Comics this week!

Another week chock full of comics but there are fewer Thanksgivings so hopefully it won't feel quite so jam-packed. Also, Annuals time is apparently in full-swing as we have another pair this week to join the recent surge of them. ALSO also, the finale of FEARLESS DEFENDERS, which I'm less invested in than I was the books that ended last week and the books ending in our near future (SCARLET SPIDER and, oh my god, X-MEN LEGACY and YOUNG AVENGERS, to name a few). Well let's worry about this week rather than the future for now, hm?

Inhumanity 1
Not often that my pre-game picks, listed alphabetically, start at "I." Anyway, INHUMANITY is the follow-up to INFINITY and it's set to change the landscape of the Marvel Universe considerably. Hickman gets a break from events as Fraction takes over and Fraction has been absolutely on fire of late. His last event, FEAR ITSELF, was maybe my least favorite event of the past...wait, I can't say that any more, thanks to AGE OF ULTRON and BATTLE OF THE ATOM...still, it wasn't great and it dragged on and on and on, like so much AVENGERS VS. X-MEN (though it came first). All of this mention of other events, though, clouds the fact that Fraction is on fire and this is bound to be interesting. Check it out.

Iron Man 19
New set of Mandarins coming out, it seems, plus the continued story that is the combination of Tony and Arno Stark, determined to build the future. Kieron Gillen keeps on rolling in all of his books and may be as on fire or more on fire than Fraction right now so this is another one continually worth checking in on.

Secret Avengers 12
We're rolling up on the final issue of this volume of SECRET AVENGERS before it changes hands and (very slightly) teams in 2014. Unfortunate as Spencer is starting to hit his groove here but we still have a couple of issues coming and they WILL, at some point, FEATURE WINTER SOLDIER. Geez, finally.

X-Men Legacy 21
This is one of those ones I'm just not ready to end. That said, it looks as if it will be heading to a very powerful and action-packed ending and, as much as I don't want this to end, I'm not dreading the issues themselves coming out; much the opposite, I'm very excited to see them and can't wait to delve further into Legion's mind. This issue will find David fighting for everything as he goes up against the gold-skinned Xavier.

Young Avengers 13
This is, by my count, the final issue of the ongoing Mother arc/story, with the final two issues of the series (set to both come out before mid-January, so get ready for a rush of YOUNG AVENGERS, hoorayyyyyyyy before it's all gone booooooooo) focusing on the afterparty. Everything will come to a head here and, as I've been saying all along, this is one of the best books on the market and you would be well-served to check it out.
